Haley Winters

Haley Winters is an experienced educator with a demonstrated history of working in both fields of early childhood and higher education. She earned a B.A. in Early Childhood Studies at California State University Channel Islands and a M.A. in Educational Studies from Loyola Marymount University. She is passionate about relationship building, personal development and creating equitable and diverse learning opportunities for the children and families.

Haley’s advocacy for Learning Stories began during her undergraduate program at California State University Channel Islands where she developed and utilized Learning Stories for both assessments and connections with children, families, and educators. Haley found the fluidity of Learning Stories as an assessment tool to be not only easier than other assessment tools she studied, but most importantly, she found them to be impactful and authentic sources of recording and assessing learning.

She is an active board member for the Ventura County California Association for the Education of Young Children (CAAEYC) and Supporting the Advancement of Learning Stories in America (SALSA). Throughout these platforms, she is honored to be able to extend her learning and teaching of early education – and of course, Learning Stories – within her community and the greater community at large.
