Gabriella Soqui

Gabriella Soqui has been a SALSA board member since 2021 and serves as the Professional Development Chair. She is a PhD student at UCLA and her research investigates Early Childhood Education professional development. coaching, and policy. Gabriella obtained her Master’s in Early Childhood Education at San Francisco State University and her thesis focused on ECE Educators Professional Growth and Development through the Utilization of Learning Stories. Gabriella has worked in Higher Education and Early Childhood Education for the past decade. She is also the facilitator of the Online Learning Stories Inquiry Group. 

Gabriella is passionate about Learning Stories and the holistic strengths-based lens in which Learning Stories view children. She utilizes Learning Stories as a way for her undergraduate students to highlight their preschool students as well as to assess the undergraduate students' growth and development in their teaching practice.
